Library Giving Day
The Library Foundation does not fund basic library operations. Instead, the Foundation works with SCLD to determine where private funding can expand and enhance the library’s work, helping the library offer services, programs, and technology that might not be possible otherwise.
Your support means the world to us.
In 2025, your generous donations to Library Giving Day, in April, are helping us put books into the hands and homes of kids and teens to kick off Summer Reading. Each youth who registers for Summer Reading receives a new book of their very own that they can keep.
This past year, your donations also provided the following support to library services that benefit and enrich our community:
- $10,000 for 2024 Summer Reading books for 1,579 kids
- $5,000 for Spokane Symphony passes made available for check out
- $5,000 for Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture passes made available for check out
- $3,925 for USL Spokane soccer tickets make available for check out
- $3,000 for Mobius Discovery Center passes made available for check out
- $1,000 for eBooks available for check out
- $61,000 for the Spokane Valley Library Capital Campaign
- $1,866 for the kitchen playset at Airway Heights Library
- $600 for Teen Poetry Slam prizes
