The Diane E. Zahand Memorial Fund was created by James Zahand in 2012 to expand programs and resources in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at Spokane County Library District.
Diane E. Zahand taught kindergarten for many years before starting Prism School in Spokane Valley. During her time teaching, her philosophy included uncovering each child’s giftedness, and her commitment to educating students had a positive impact on children, especially her hands-on approach to the exploration of nature and science.
Donations to this fund support children of all ages with programs and services that are foundational for growing problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
